Information for Students from Canada
At QMU we have a long tradition of welcoming students from all over the world. Around 25% of ÄÛÒ¶²Ý students are international, consistently coming to us from around 90 countries throughout the world.
Find out more specific information to help you plan your studies at QMU.
For undergraduate courses:
We welcome applications from Canadian students with secondary school and high school diplomas as standard entry qualifications to our undergraduate courses. Our entry requirements vary slightly between provinces, but as a general rule, we would be looking for 65% in five subjects.
For postgraduate courses:
We will consider applications from students holding a good Bachelors (Honours) degree from a recognised university.
Please note that the above is given for guidance only and that entry requirements will vary between courses. We may also be looking for a strong Statement of Purpose/Personal Statement, some work or shadowing experience or specific subjects to have been studied at an advanced level. For more information refer to our individual course pages.
Students who do not speak English as their first language, and have not studied in the English medium, will be required to provide a recognised English qualification as detailed below.
ÄÛÒ¶²Ý Scholarships:
The University is pleased to offer a number of competitive scholarships of up to £3,000 each for new international students undertaking their first year of study on an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. The scholarship is granted as a reduction of the tuition fee and is available to students who are self-funding with an international tuition fee of more than £9,000 for a single year of study only. Applications can be made by students who have received an offer of a place of study at the University.
Canada Student Loans Program:
ÄÛÒ¶²Ý is a recognised institution for the purpose of certifying Canadian student loan applications. The Canada Student Loans Program allows students to borrow money from the Government of Canada to pursue higher education. For details on eligibility and how to apply for a loan, please visit the Canada Student Loans Program website: . Our institutional code is PUDY.

Please note that if you wish to apply for a scholarship award, you are strongly advised to apply for a place on the course of your choice as early as possible, as we will only consider applications from those holding an offer for a place of study. ÄÛÒ¶²Ý has a number of articulation agreements in place with partner Colleges and Universities in Canada.
Our articulation agreements allow students from one institution to join particular ÄÛÒ¶²Ý course/s, often with 'advanced standing'. Advance standing takes previous study credit into account and students will pay a reduced course fee.
Please select the relevant college to find further details of each articulation route. If your course is not included in the linked pages, please email International@qmu.ac.uk to discuss the options that may be open to you.
